Lesson learned: recording a keyboard

Apparently, trying to record an electronic keyboard (to be used as a synthesizer) isn't the greatest idea; you can hear the keys being pressed in the recorded track! It's kind of funny, actually. Take a listen if you want, and learn from my mistake! (Clicking the link will take you to a page to download a snippet of my keyboard recording failure.)  http://www.mediafire.com/?xjn3s7b3dfs5osv

Imagine hearing that on an album?

What could be a great song would be absolutely ruined because all the listener is focused on is the annoying sound of the keys being pushed down! (The occasional, but very audible sniffling of the person-with-a-cold playing the keyboard doesn't help the annoying-factor, either, does it?)

In hind-sight, I probably should have recorded a few bars first to get a sample of what the recording would sound like. But, I'm not that smart, apparently.

Moral of the story: Always record a sample of a few bars before you spend a full half an hour making sure you get a perfect track recorded. Yeah, I learned the hard way. Sigh.
