Looking for guest post writers!

As previously hinted, I have a lot in store for Head Indie Clouds. I'd like to share one of these with you guys right now, but first I have to find people who would like to do it!

I am interested in having some guest posts published on this blog. You know, guest posts: when a person other than the owner of the blog creates content to be posted as a special one-time thing. There are tons of advantages to having guest posts incorporated into a blog, including:
  • Offers a fresh perspective
  • New "voice"; every writer has a different tone and voice and word choice -- it's nice to have some variety every now and again!
  • Gives the guest writers some experience writing blog posts and sharing their thoughts without having to maintain a blog of their own
  • Provides opportunity to link to the guest writer's website, blog, etc.

"But I'm not a writer/blogger/risk-taker/awesome person..."
Guest posts can be short or long, light or insightful, humorous or serious... it's all up to you! You don't have to be a "writer" or a "blogger" to be a guest poster. The post can be anonymous, if you chose, to protect your privacy.

"But I don't have anything to write about!"
The choices are endless when it comes to guest posts. Here are a few suggestions:
  • Comment on the points made in a previously published post
  • Add on to a previously published post with new information that you would like to share
  • Support the ideas of a previously published post
  • Criticize a previously published post, or take it a different way than I did
  • Talk about a project you are working on and connect it or compare it to Head Indie Clouds or music education in some way
  • Find an news article relating to music education and comment on it (or find any news article and relate it to music education or anything relating to this project!). If you need examples, go here (commentary on how a footwear company donated money for music education) and then go here (commentary on an article about the benefits of music education). You can easily find articles pertaining to music education by scrolling down to the very bottom of the Head Indie Clouds blog, where you'll find a widget that links to news stories pertaining to music education. (The widget is updated live -- meaning, as articles are published, they are instantly available at the bottom of the blog!)
  • Find a second guest post writer who opposes your view on a topic and have each of you present the your side in a way that is informative, allowing the reader to make his/her own educated decision. As always, it should have some relevance to the Head Indie Clouds project, music education, the music industry, etc.

The possibilities just go on and on and on! There is so much that you could do, and it is all in the name of music education. If you are considering taking me up on this opportunity, I would absolutely love to hear from you! Even if you don't have a specific idea or think you might "not be any good." Shoot me an email at mariajerniganmusic@gmail.com and we'll go from there!
